Returning the R 18 Roctane
I hauled BMW’s R 18 Roctane up to Morton’s BMW so they can pick it up. The R 18 was a bear to get on the trailer. It’s so long I had to go in at an angle.

I’ve officially ridden over 100 miles on the R 90/6!

Here we go! Day 1 of riding a vintage bike for a full year. Time to get going on my goal of getting at least 5,000 miles on this bike in 2025!

Rode about 40 miles to end at 64,466, just running around town doing errands. I picked up some shop supplies at Advance Auto Parts—shop rags, shop towels and a quart of Valvoline 20W50 “racing” oil, the only 20W50 they had available.

These gloves are well suited for use with vintage motorcycles, six-volt systems and riders without heated grips who want battery-powered warmth for short to moderate rides in cold weather.

The thought of spending a full year riding only a vintage bike sounded like a good idea when I came up with it.

Instead of just having one pair of gloves, I got two so I’d be able to alternate them and hopefully stave off deterioration due to sweat, hard use and UV exposure. I could have gotten two of the same model, but that would’t make for a very good comparison article!
