With the BMW MOA National Rally coming up in June 2026 in Essex Junction, Vermont, now is the perfect time to plan your ride there to truly enjoy what the area around has to offer. What makes this state a wonderful destination is the lush green mountains, amazing rural farm landscapes and fabulous roads to ride your motorcycle!

Most North Texas BMW motorcycle riders know of K Avenue running north-south from Dallas through Plano, but not everybody knows the history of the area.

Competing in a GS Trophy qualifier each year is no small feat. It requires precise riding through exceptional balance, clutch, throttle, and braking control of an adventure motorcycle weighing over 500 pounds. Judges watch riders carefully, occasionally causing a distraction with loud callouts like “DAB!” and “FALL!”

High noon seemed like an appropriate time for our meet up. There wasn’t any gunplay planned, but my steed’s sudden oil leak did have me wondering if I’d make it through the trip. I’d noticed the dripping just a few days prior, too late to get it fixed before I left. Rather than miss out, I decided to press my luck. The warbling whistle of a Clint Eastwood movie soundtrack trailed off in the back of my mind as I headed south from Tucson.
