Here’s some more info about the guitar being given away on Friday night from Vance & Mari Harrelson, our Rally Chairs.
Friday night’s Ultimate Grand Prize is a handcrafted custom guitar, built by participants at Nashville’s Narrow Gate Lodge.
The guitar is made with walnut back and sides and a Sitka spruce top for excellent sound conduction and projection. The mahogany neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard, and the guitar is decorated with spalted maple for the rosette, headstock and the end graft.
The guitar is signed by some real heavyweight songwriters in the Nashville scene. First is Allen Shamblin, who has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Allen wrote Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” Miranda Lambert’s “House That Built Me” and “He Walked on Water,” recorded by Randy Travis and others.

Next up is Neil Thrasher, who has written 11 #1 songs in his career. He’s the writer behind Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life,” Rascal Flatts’ “Fast Cars & Freedom” and “Try That in a Small Town,” made famous by Jason Aldean.
Bart Allmand is the host of the ThinkinandDrinkin podcast. He wrote Steve Holy’s “Brand New Girlfriend” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Can’t Take the Honky Tonk out of the Girl,” among others.
Finally, we have Leslie Sacher, who wrote George Strait’s “Troubadour” among other great songs. The winner of the guitar will receive a handwritten lyric sheet from Leslie!
To win this priceless guitar, you’ll need to drop your Ultimate Grand Prize ticket for it in the bin on Friday between 6-8 PM, then come back to the stage at 8.30 to hear your name called out. You must be present to win!
