Non-ethanol gas expedition

End at 65,017 (78 miles)

Had to go ride today—high in the low 60s but only 50 when I left around 9.30. In its mission to make me 100% insane, the bike started on one press of the button with utterly no heroic effort on my part. Choke on full, waited a few seconds after turning on the fuel tap and boom—running! So easy. So infuriating!

Set out to get E0 gas in New Kent County. All back roads (thanks, Beeline!). Glorious ride. Found the place no problem. Not a regular gas station—it looked like some kind of truck/fleet business. Closed on Sundays. Made my way to a Mobil across the county—all regular gas. Got a drink and a snack. Clerk came out to deal with a customer and on his way back in, I asked if he knew of an E0 pump anywhere near. He pointed and said, “Pump 17, right there.” It was over by the diesel pumps for big trucks. Never even looked there. Glad I asked!

Dude coming out of the Mobil station’s 7-Eleven store said, “Nice bike, buddy. What year is it?” In that moment. I’ve heard that phrase or something like it LITERALLY every time I’ve gone anywhere on the R 90/6. Later, I went to Publix to get fake feta cheese for dinner that my wife is making tonight. Kid taking groceries to somebody’s car for them said, “Dude, I love your bike. What year is it?” Nobody ever says “cool bike” about my GS or even the FTR. NOBODY.

Looking like decent weather for the next couple of weeks.
